Introspective

Ah, the Sunday night feeling of the end of a holiday.... Let's hope I can keep this blog up as we enter a busy term with sats, reports (sorry, I know I go on!) and general primaryness to plan.

Been feeling introspective today and dangerously on the verge of moping (as opposed to mopping, I'm never on the verge of that.)

As I lolled in the sea with K and E the other day, we chatted about all the usual things. School, the coming summer, how cold the water is, and MEN! As she asked me if I have had a relationship since the Evil Ex (husband), I was forced to confront the answer that was a resounding NO! Oh shit. This has set me aback a bit and brought the fact home that although I have had forays into the world of men over the years, there has actually not been anyone you would call a 'boyfriend' (for want of a better term) . No one that I could call was"love". Or who has loved me. Before or after the EE. or even during! This is a situation that needs to be rectified! I am adamant that I will not live my life completely void of knowing what it feels like to trust a partner and to feel secure in the knowledge that they love you whatever happens. I SHALL click the "in a relationship" button on FB!! Is it dangerous to say I shall do it before Christmas? Now, apparently I am "really special". So do really special girls like me deserve to live a lonely life?? Surely not! Ok, rant over.... I will not turn this into a channel for my woes.
In other news. Who is looking at this? Am I just writing to myself? I would love to know who I am talking to. Maybe you could leave a comment on here to let me know you visited. Maybe even offer advice on the post above?

Loving the sun....!

Last really day of the holiday today and I intend to make the most of it! So far I have... Some may say it is a waste to lie under duvet till half 10, but I have been awake since 7;30, had poached eggs and Earl grey, watched a great natural history programme on iPlayer and done 2 colours on the crochet. Id say that was time well spent!
After a short trip into town, I'm off to the hut today!!! Love it down there and feel honoured to be welcomed as one of the gang! So shine on sun! keep it coming and then lets all have a drink for Sara's birthday tonight!
Reports update; 6 to go and tweaking to do on all. All very manageable.

Constant Distractions.....

Today I shall not be looking at this scene..... Although the weather looks glorious out there.

I am determined to get up at a reasonable hour and get into the classroom to finish little jobs from last term and DO REPORTS! I apologise for going on about it but it really is painful. And to be honest, no one is convinced that the parents read whether their child can recognise a variety of 2D and 3D shapes anyway! They just want to know if their child is happy and they can either talk to their children about that, or ask me in the playground about that sort of stuff! Anyway, there's no point me moaning about it, I may as well just succumb.....

In other news, I keep making elderflower cordial but have no freezer space for it! I think I might freeze it in cubes that can just be plopped into water when I need them. Handy! Also, I once had a lunch in a pub in Brighton and the dessert Elderflower ice cream and Lavender biscuits. I am so going to make that! I've got a recipe that uses cordial so expect it any time

Country file....

I forgot to get the banana bread out whilst out walking today so lucky Joe got the lot.... in other news, I did some more elderflower picking and the cordial is doing its think I type. God, it smells nice......

Sara's Brights......

Here I am!

Well, I've been urged to blog, not for the first time, and although the timing could be better (Helen, you have reports to write!) I figure I might be ready to talk to myself online.... Let's face it, who else is interested in the potterings of a frustrated homemaker?

This week, I have become obsessed with crochet. I actually never really liked the "look" of it, and am a proper knitting addict, but suddenly, I feel the need to have a crochet blanket (Is it an age thing do you think?). I even sat on the train from London doing it yesterday.. I hope it looks cool and not just grannyish.....

Next, is a set of squares for the lovely Sara. To stick to the tradition of hand made presents, I am very happy to obey her request for squares to add to her blanket! And a good excuse to use the brightest of brights too!

First day of the holidays and doing the Robertsbridge circular. A very good avoidance tactic from the dreaded reports. So was baking banana loaf at midnight last night in preparation.
